Oxfam training weekend

I spent last weekend training for the Oxfam Trailwalker. Over Saturday, Sunday, and Monday I walked all 7 sections of the trail. Excluding a few bits that aren’t open until event day, or are just backtracks, I walked 90 of the 100 kilometre trail.

It was one of the best weekends I have spent for a long time. I got to spend time in the amazing D’Aguilar National Park to Brisbane’s north and west. I also got to spend a day with Angela (my niece) and with Heather (my sister). On Saturday Angela and I walk sections 1 and 2 (about 25 kms); on Sunday I completed sections 3, 4, and 5 (about 42 kms), and on Monday, Heather and I completed the walk (sections 6 and 7 – 23 kms).

Angela and I are half of the Family Fellas team (with Angela’s husband Shannon, and her brother, my nephew, Mark) that have entered the Brisbane Oxfam Trailwalker next month.

We have to raise funds, so if you want to donate to help us achieve our goal, and to help Oxfam continue to help people in need all over the world (including survivors of the multiple Nepalese earthquakes) then follow this link to our team page.

Enjoy my piccies from the beautiful forests that I get to walk in every weekend.
