Portovenere
Yesterday we took the ferry to Portovenere. It’s a small village on the western end of the peninsula that forms the La Spezia harbour. From Portovenere the boats head north up the western coast to the Cinque Terre.
Ferrari Museum
A 3 hour bus ride south from Milan had me at the Ferrari Museum for the day.
Venice and other islands
Yesterday we bought a 24hr ferry pass and set out for the islands of Murano and Burano.
Teatro alla Scala
When I haven’t been attending Formula 1 races, the other really special part of this adventure has been attending performances in some of the iconic entertainment houses in Europe.

Cathedral of speed
The Italian Formula 1 race was last weekend. This is our 8th and last race for this year and I have to say I am a little sad that part of our adventure has come to an end.
Lake Como
We first visited Lake Como on our honeymoon 10 years ago – came up on a day trip from Milan. It was a very wet and overcast day and we were unable to see the real beauty of the lake.
